Objectives for Ethics Course
1. Identify reasons that ethics are important.
2. Define Ethics & Values.
3. Describe the difference between Foundational Ethics
and Situational Ethics.
4. Identify sources of ethical framework.
5. Given a case study, come to an ethical decision on a
course of action with a small group of people.
Course Description
This course will expose the participant to a practical
method of ethical decision-making. Often, ethical
decisions are made by gut reactions. Good ethical
decisions are made when the decision-maker takes the
time to explore the issue at hand thoroughly and develop
a list of options for acting. By taking this list of
possible options and placing them through a framework of
common ethical approaches, the decision-maker can come
up with a better and more ethical decision. This course
will teach the learner about the components of a
framework for ethics and how to use this framework to
make more consistent ethical decisions. The participant
will leave the classroom with a worksheet that will
enable them to take the process back to work and use in
on a daily basis if needed.
The course is three hours in length and includes a
combination of instructor presentation, class and group
activities.
The Water Damage
Mitigation course demonstrates how water can damage
carpet, wood floors and other building materials, how
long until damage occurs and what steps can be taken to
reduce or minimize the damage. The course also
illustrates water removal and explains the principles of
drying and dehumidification. Mold growth, the use of
antimicrobials and odor control are also covered.
The Smoke and Odor
Mitigation course explores the chemistry of fire and
the effects of smoke on various structural building
components and household contents. Participants will
learn what items in a home are at risk and how emergency
cleaning can prevent or minimize further damage. Odor
mitigation methods such as ozone and air cleaning are
also covered.
The Mold Remediation
course introduces the science of mold and explores it
potentially harmful effects to building materials and
occupants. Participants will learn how mold grows, how
it spreads and that actions should be taken to remove
mold in a safe and reasonable manner. By understanding
principles like containment, negative air and the
importance of personal protection, participants will be
able to make informed and intelligent decisions when
selecting or recommending a mold remediation company. |
